Good rates, quick setup

I switched to their Guaranteed Rate Electricity plan last month for my new apartment. The online enrollment was pretty straightforward, took about 15 minutes. Didn't have any issues. Customer service was responsive when I called with a question about the security deposit, got through in under 5 minutes. My first bill came in, and the rates were exactly what I was quoted. Overall, a solid experience so far.

Consistent service, fair pricing

I've been with ATCOenergy for about three years now, mostly on their Floating Rate Natural Gas. My recent renewal went smoothly, just like the previous ones. I really appreciate not having to worry about my energy provider; they're consistently reliable. I looked at a few competitors when my last term was up, but their prices always seem to be competitive, especially with the anniversary credit they apply. It makes it easy to just stick with them. No surprises, which is what I want from an energy company.

Decent deal for a new customer

I just signed up for a Residential Energy Plan last week. I was trying to find the best value for electricity and natural gas combined. They had a new customer offer that included a $75 bill credit, which was applied right away. That definitely made the decision easier. The sign-up process online was a bit slow on my phone, but it got done. I chose the Guaranteed Rate Electricity and Natural Gas to keep things predictable. Hoping the savings add up over the year. So far, it seems like a worthwhile switch for the price.

Is it possible to stack a referral bonus with one of their new customer offers? Or is it usually one or the other?

O Olivia Allen 3 weeks ago
Pretty sure they usually don't let you double up on those. Most places only let you use one promo per account.

I tried to use a referral when I signed up for a new customer deal and it didn't work. Ended up just getting the new customer credit.

Thinking of switching to ATCOenergy for my electricity, anyone know if they do any kind of sign-up bonus?

M Michelle Thomas 1 month ago
Yeah, I got like a $50 credit when I first signed up last year. It just showed up on my first bill, didn't have to do anything special.

They usually have something for new customers, sometimes it's more if you bundle gas too. Don't think there's a code though, it just applies.

thinking about signing up for one of their home protection plans, are they actually worth it or just an upsell?

N Nathan Wright 3 days ago
I have their furnace protection plan, and it saved my butt last winter when my furnace conked out. Repair was covered, definitely worth it for me.

Depends on your appliances and how old your house is, I guess. My buddy swears by their whole home plan but I haven't gotten one myself.

Anyone have experience with ATCOenergy vs Enmax? Mostly looking at fixed rate electricity plans.

A Alex Jackson 1 month ago
I switched from Enmax to ATCOenergy a couple years ago. Rates were slightly better for me with ATCO and their customer service has been fine, no complaints.

Both are pretty solid in Alberta. I'd just compare the actual fixed rates for your usage, they can vary. ATCO sometimes has better bundle deals too.

Do they actually offer carbon offsets or green energy stuff? I want to make sure I'm not just getting regular power.

K Kevin Garcia 4 weeks ago
Yeah, they do. You can add on renewable energy credits to your plan, I think. It's an extra charge but pretty straightforward.

I remember seeing an option for it when I signed up, like a 'green' add-on for a few extra bucks a month. Pretty sure it's legit.
